“You’re going to war with a corporation that owns a day of the week.”

The first trailer for Will Smith’s newest movie, Concussion, has been released. In the film, Smith stars as Dr. Bennet Omalu, the forensic pathologist who discovered chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in the brains of two NFL players. CTE is a degenerative disease resulting from multiple concussions. The film, based on a 2009 GQ profile, chronicles the many obstacles that got in the way of Dr. Omalu sharing his findings of a connection between football-related injuries and early-onset dementia—most notably, the $45 billion National Football League.
