Actor Will Ferrell is well-known for his outlandish antics from his days on Saturday Night Live to his over-the-top performances in films like Anchorman and Talladega Nights. If you had to pick one actor who would suddenly freak out at a New Orleans Pelicans game, throwing a ball at a cheerleader before being hauled away by security, you’d pick Shia Labeouf — but Ferrell would be a close second.

Not to worry, though, Ferrell didn’t actually drunkenly rush the court and pelt a Pelicans cheerleader. He was filming a scene for an upcoming film called Daddy’s Home, which also stars Mark Wahlberg. Here’s a synopsis of the film, which is filming in New Orleans until the beginning of Feburary:
Daddy’s Home stars Ferrell as a mild-mannered radio executive who is determined to become the best stepdad possible to the children of his new wife (Linda Cardellini). Wahlberg plays the children’s “freewheeling and freeloading” biological father, whose sudden re-emergence forces Ferrell’s character to compete for the affection of the children.
According to nola.com, Pelicans fans knew about the stunt beforehand and played along, heartily booing Ferrell after his failed attempt at a half court shot nailed the Pelicans cheerleader.
A fan managed to capture most of the proceedings from the stands.
You stay classy, San Diego Will Ferrell.
