Jennifer Lawrence recently broke her silence regarding the nude photo hacking scandal that people refuse to stop talking about, saying in an interview to Vanity Fair that the leak “is not a scandal, it’s a sex crime.” Mind you, these are the only words Lawrence has publicly said on the subject, but TV host Wendy Williams thinks the whole issue would go away if J. Law would just pipe down already.

(FYI, unless you want to watch Williams talk about Jamie Kennedy for longer than anyone has talked about Jamie Kennedy in the last decade, skip to 5:26 in the video for the Lawrence segment.)

“In my opinion, if she would just stop talking about the cloud and the naked pictures, it’d just go away!” Williams says to her contractually obligated to applaud audience. “We’d all forget about it!”

“It’s not your choice, it’s in the cloud, and I’ve looked several times,” Williams continued. “So I guess I’m disgusting for looking?”

Whether you’re disgusting for looking at any of the leaked photos is a matter of opinion. (But for the record, yes, Wendy, you are.) But what is absolutely, without a doubt disgusting is Williams’ victim-blaming and her followup assertion that Lawrence should recognize this crime for what it is: a boon to her career.

“Jennifer Lawrence, you know what? Don’t sweat this, young lady,” Williams says. “I mean, you’re the one who took the pictures…You don’t look bad under your clothes, and I think the [hacking] has actually made your career even hotter.”

Yes, Wendy, the most popular young actress in Hollywood, star of two billion-dollar film franchises and winner of film’s most prestigious acting awards needs the help of a perverted criminal releasing nude photos of her to give her career a lift. She’s not the Octomom, Wendy. She has a career. But feel free to continue making your own career hotter by spouting ignorant nonsense like this on a daily basis.
