We’ve covered the MBTA’s winter to forget from just about every conceivable angle. One way we didn’t think of? A YMCA / MBTA music video lampooning the many failures of our transit system in the form of song and dance.
El Planeta, a media company catering to Hispanic audiences in Massachusetts, posted the video on their Facebook page this afternoon.
Aside from fun clips reliving the nightmare that was using the T this winter…
El Planeta also put in plenty of clips from the original Village People video, to humorous effect.
Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time someone has made the YMCA / MBTA connection. In July members of Local SEIU 615 staged a flash mob in Government Center to protest cuts to MBTA cleaning services.
The MBTA takes plenty of abuse, and it’s easy to forget there are real people working as hard as they can to fix our problems. Hopefully they take this video as a fun exercise, and not a harsh criticism. We’ll leave that to others.
