Summer is over. Officially.
Monday, October 12, marks the last day that you can take a trip to Boston Harbor Islands. After today, public ferries will no longer run to the islands from the mainland.
Service will reopen next spring. 2016 will be a big year for the Harbor Islands, too–the National Park Service turns 100, and the Boston Light turns 300. So if you’re in morning that the Harbor Islands are closed for the season and need something to do to mitigate the pain, go ahead and start planning next year’s trip.
