The Kansas City Royals clinched their first World Series berth since 1985 with a 2-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles last night, and Kansas native Paul Rudd is celebrating the same way he did back then when he was 16: with a huge kegger at his mom’s house.

At least that’s what Rudd said when in a postgame interview with a local television reporter. After waxing poetic about long-suffering Royals fans who never gave up hope, Rudd jokingly said he’d be celebrating with an epic rager at his childhood home. “Party at my Mom’s, man,” Rudd said. “She’s out of town, I’ve got a keg — it’s gonna be sweet!” before breaking in to the interview to let everyone know about the $5 cover.

The nation’s neutral MLB fans should definitely throw their support behind the Royals, as they’ll be facing either the St. Louis Cardinals or San Francisco Giants, two teams that have combined to win three of the last four World Series. The Cardinals made it last year’s series too, but we all remember how that turned out.
