The first trailer for “Pitch Perfect 2,” the sequel to the 2012 megahit, is here. Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and the rest of the Barden Bellas are going international in this one, and also Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews is here for some reason.
The crew is headed to the World Championships of A Capella, which no American team has ever won (because they hate our freedoms and over-reliance on Journey songs in karaoke, obviously).
Meanwhile Clay Matthews seems to be there only because he rocks the hell out of a sleeveless tuxedo, Chippendales style. Maybe he has some secret vocal talents we didn’t know about? We already know he can break it down real sexy-like…
Anyways, the trailer looks pretty great. Though the halcyon days of “American Idol” dominating the airwaves are long gone, “Glee,” “The Voice” and another “Pitch Perfect” movie pretty much guarantee that the singing craze won’t die just yet. At the very least, it guarantees we’ll all probably have “The Cup Song” stuck in our head again.
