Teenagers across the nation have made the shocking discovery that school lunches are often gross. And as so many in this country are wont to do, they’re immediately blaming Obama. Michelle Obama, that is.

In light of new USDA regulations championed by the First Lady aimed at improving the health of school lunches, teens are tweeting photos of less-than-appetizing school lunches with the hashtag #ThanksMichelleObama.

To call this a “trend” would be a bit disingenuous, really. The Buzzfeed article rounding up the best of the hashtag can only find one or two recent photos, and has to resort to embedding tweets from April in an attempt to solidify this as a “thing.”

So not only are there very few actual examples of kids sharing photos of disgusting new lunches, I’d be willing to bet that not a single one of these kids could tell you one distinct change in the USDA policy on school lunches. But never mind that, the food revolution must be televised — or at least tweeted. Be sure to turn in next week, when kids post photos of how much homework they have on Instagram with the hashtag #ThanksMaliaObama, or post 6-second videos of dog crap with the hashtag #ThanksBoObama.
