Marathon Monday is a day of celebration. Celebration of the city of Boston, its dedicated runners, and just the fact that it’s finally Spring and maybe it’s okay to let loose a bit. BDCwire made its way from Heartbreak Hill to Boylston Street, meeting the different characters along the trail, most of whom were there to celebrate some part of the day, from the race, to the sunshine, to the beer. If anything, it was a sign that, a year after tragedy, Boston is perfectly okay going back to how it always was, and we’ve got the pics to prove it. 6th annual Winter Ball lets post-grads give back in style

Take a couple hundred yo-pro’s, throw in a ‘Legit’ band, give them a reason to party and you, my friend, have a recipe for a successful winter ball. The 6th annual Boston Winter Ball took place this past Saturday, March 8th at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Boston’s most eligible young professionals gathered together for a night of dancing, drinks and all around bougie-ness. The ball helps benefit the Boston Children’s Hospital, raising money each year for a specific area of need. This year’s ball helped raise money for The Extraordinary Care Fund, helping families with any additional expenses incurred when traveling to and from the hospital. More

Kobe Bryant sits in on class at BC, students totally freak

Lakers megastar Kobe Bryant, who has always been well-received in Boston (joking), flew into Boston a bit early to sit in on some business classes at Boston College last night. The Lakers will play the Celtics in Boston tonight, but Bryant, who is currently out with a fractured knee, is still traveling with the team. So the future Hall of Fame guard, who entered the NBA straight out of high school, figured he would soak in the fruits of the greatest college city in the world. More
