Last month, local artists Michael J. Epstein and Sophia Cacciola wrote a poignant post on how difficult it is to survive as an artist in the city of Boston, and shared their bittersweet decision to move to Los Angeles. Their words and their decision have sparked a discussions city-wide on the role of the arts and artists in and around Boston, even motivating Mayor Marty Walsh to pen this piece for the Boston Globe. Michael and Sophia were kind enough to accept my invitation to host this month’s edition of Six Songs, sharing a half-dozen tracks from Boston musicians they’ll miss, and continuing the discussion.
