“Allston Rat City,” the title track off Radical Apathy’s self-titled EP is probably the most appropriate title to embody the entire band. They seem to fittingly be the sonic equivalent of the neighborhood, with fast guitars and screeching vocals. If I reverted back to my 16 year old high school self, I would be ALL about this. I wish Tony Hawk’s Pro-Skater was still churning out sequels, because this is the kind of music that would fit into the soundtrack. (I say that in a 100% positive way.) Allston punk isn’t dead, and I for one am quite happy to have it live on.
