From the Stratocasters of aging gamers comes “Let’s Mosey!,” an EP of reworked video game themes from Phoenix Down. Now, Phoenix Down could’ve done the easy thing and covered Super Mario themes and Buzzfed themselves to 15 second of internet fame, but the Philadelphia garage nerds have more respect for the source material than that. Instead, they give low-fi love to Sonic the Hedgehog, and twice they bend their E strings to pay homage to Final Fantasy VII, the game for which this EP is named. The result is fun as shit, and it wil have you digging through your mom’s garage to see if your SNES or Epiphone amp have anything left to give.
