“I accept my fate.” These were Lopez’s last word before he clicked the submit button and linked me to his humble blog of braindroppings, Poorly Edited. What I found was a trove of weirdo fiction and short blogs that appealed to my every curmudgeonly instinct. A short story about summoning a State Farm agent for “Saw”-like fun. An unsolicited epilogue for the ’80s team film “The Breakfast Club.” A listicle about the oddities of living on a navy submarine. All written with supreme tact and humor. Tightly controlled, though perhaps in need of some copyediting help (thus the title, I suppose). Summed simply – Lopez doesn’t need to be such a fatalist. The work speaks well enough for itself.
