The purple mystery himself, Prince, stopped by “The Arsenio Hall Show” last night as both the guest and the musical performer with his new band 3RDEYEGIRL. The artist premiered a new song for the crowd called “FUNKNROLL,” which is basically classic Prince– a cosmic take on classic funk and R&B, complete with an 11-piece horn section, frontman mystique, and some killer dance moves. He performed two other songs as well, “Mutiiny” from The Family-era, and the rare “Paisley Park” b-side “She’s Always In My Hair”
The latter tune seemed fitting, because in his post-performance chat with Arsenio, Prince made it clear that he doesn’t enjoy having his hair touched. He’s not alone in this category (looking at you, Jesse Katsopolis), but explains his pet peeve in the second clip.
