Bust out your party hats — Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project is turning 5 years old. The beloved local brewery will be hosting a free party at the Precinct in Somerville’s Union Square on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 6 p.m. to midnight with 12 Pretty Things beers available, plus the release of its latest brew, Barbapapa, a 12 percent Russian Imperial Stout.
Owned and operated by husband and wife duo Dann and Martha Paquette, Pretty Things has been a major player in the Boston beer scene since the release of its flagship beer, Jack D’Or. It’s considered a tenant brewery, meaning they rent brewery space from another establishment. Currently, they brew out of Buzzard’s Bay Brewing in Westport, but the Paquettes still do all of the labor, from crafting the recipes to creating the whimsical label art.
So come party with them. After all, it’s free. And there will be cake and beer, and live music from Answerman, Thick Shakes, Thee Legendary Rockin’ Prophets, Major Stars, and DJ John Funke. Best of all, you can embarrass yourself in the photobooth.
