The Brooklyn trio with Boston roots will release its debut album on Warner Bros. Records in February, but the first single, “Deadbolt,” is a pleasant taste of what’s to come. This tune will be released for digital sale on Oct. 29.

New Jersey’s Screaming Females release a slow-burning grinder from a new split 7-inch with Wisconsin’s Tenement. As usual, guitarist Marissa Paternoster shreds something fierce.

Vice Records’ latest signee, Charlotte’s Deniro Farrar, gets trill on a new track with local electro-pop duo Child Actor.
Duck Sauce – “Radio Stereo”
You may remember New York dance duo Duck Sauce from the increasingly annoying hit “Barbra Streisand
.” Now the group back with the funky “Radio Stereo.” You may not like it, but dammit they can produce a catchy track.
Total Slacker – “Sometimes U Gotta Die”
Fun-loving garage rats Total Slacker reach toward darker shades on the first track available from the upcoming LP “Slip Away,” which will be out in February on Black Bell Records.
Ali Koehler, former drummer for Best Coast and Vivian Girls, has teamed up with ex-Hole drummer Patty Schemel to form twee-punk quartet Upset. The band’s debut, also called “She’s Gone,” will be out Oct. 29 on Don Giovanni Records.
Mellowhigh – “Extinguisher”
OFWGKTA’s Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, and Left Brain are collectively known as Mellowhigh. The trio is as aggressive as ever on the freshly-produced “Extinguisher.” The group’s self-titled debut drops on Halloween and is available for pre-order here.
Saintseneca – “Uppercutter
Ohio-based chamber-folk quartet Saintseneca released its debut 7-inch for “Uppercutter” yesterday on Anti- Records. The band will be touring this fall and winter while prepping a full-length for 2014.
