Yes, they may be lucky, but they’re also super talented.

Magic Man is a synth-pop band that formed in Boston a few years ago while Alex Capplow was attending Tufts and began writing songs with fellow Newton-native Sam Vanderhoop Lee. The band got its start playing clubs in Boston and surrounding cities until Capplow graduated in 2012, at which point the band released its EP “You Are Here,” got signed to Columbia Records, and began touring internationally with bands like Walk the Moon and Panic! at the Disco. They have since added more local members, such as Andover native Justine Bowe an fellow Newtonite Gabe Goodman, and have returned to Boston to play high profile gigs like Boston Calling Music Festival.

Last night, the band may have gotten its most exciting gig to date– a spot playing live on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Pre-Show. They may not have been playing directly on the runway (maybe next season, gang), but there were still Victoria’s Secret models on hand dancing to the song, and that’s really the only seal of approval that you need, right?

Not ba exposure for a few young’uns out of Boston. You can watch the performance below, starting at 41:25.

To those who say that the rock ‘n’ roll dream is dead– eat your damn words.
