Ryan Bowling was at ComFest, a music and arts festival in Columbus, Ohio with his seven-year-old daughter Zea. Then, a homophobic street preacher approached Zea and her gay pride flag.
“You can live a life with His redeeming power — Jesus Christ would give you that,” the man yells at Zea in the video posted by her father. “This world will not give you that. This world will give you heartache, this world will give you divorce, this world will give you pain.”
We don’t know about all that, but one thing the world will give you? High fives.
“Zea didn’t just flash the flag at that hatemonger, and bail,” Bowling wrote in a Facebook post. “They went toe to toe, for several minutes, while he bellowed all of his fire and brimstone right in her face. Grown man vs first grader.”
