Since last year’s tragedies during the Boston Marathon, the spirited people of Boston have displayed an unparalleled and reinvigorated sense of solidarity and passion that now runs rampant through this iconic city. With the 118th marathon quickly approaching, local photographer and director, JJ Miller co-wrote and directed a short commercial dedicated to the great city of Boston and the unwavering people that inhabit it.
“The marathon has always been something that brings the entire city together, whether you’re a runner or a spectator,” says Miller. “We felt that by creating this video we could deter the negative things that surround last year’s marathon and could encourage people to rally around this one memorable event and bring this city together again.”
Miller’s commercial, which isn’t being used for any commercial purposes (more to just raise spirits around the event), was shot in 24 hours and edited in 3 days time. It was released yesterday and stands as a tribute to the runners, spectators and the brave men and women who tirelessly worked in the days after the bombings. It’s a call to arms for everyone in the city to come together and celebrate the city’s resilient nature. If the 2-minute video entitled #WEWILLRUN doesn’t give you goosebumps and get you super pumped at the same time, then I don’t know what will.
