It has been a big week for modern guitar wizard Jack White, who today released a new batch of tour dates and a solo album, “Lazaretto.” Along with a headlining spot at this year’s Newport Folk Fest, the former White Stripes frontman will now take the stage at Fenway Park on September 17.
Listed to take place at the “Bleacher Theater at Fenway Park,” this will likely be a different set-up than the Billy Joel and Tom Petty shows that will also roll through the stadium this year. Presumably, White will take the stage facing the bleachers, and tickets will be sold for theatre-style seating rather than full stadium seating. Thinking optimistically, this will be the best of both worlds, getting the unique ambiance of Friendly Fenway with the intimacy of a more modest-sized crowd to go with it.
According to White’s website, tickets will be open for a pre-sale on June 17 at 10 a.m. and general on sale will begin on June 20 at 10 a.m.
