The first set of promotional pics from the upcoming Whitey Bulger biopic Black Mass have popped up on a couple of sites, giving us sneak peek of the infamous Winter Hill Gang leader as played by Johnny Depp.
Entertainment Weekly published an exclusive photo of Depp’s Bulger walking away from the city skyline, gun in hand, dead body in the background. It’s a grisly first look at the what’s to come in the film. “He murdered him in front of numerous witnesses in broad daylight,” director Scott Cooper told EW. “In a word, Whitey was brazen.”

Meanwhile, PEOPLE revealed a second series featuring Depp (in that same jacket), including one with Joel Edgerton as John Connolly Jr. Additional pics of Benedict Cumberbatch as Bulger’s brother, former state senator Billy Bulger, Sienna Miller as his lady love Catherine Greig, and Dakota Johnson as former flame Lindsey Cyr have popped up on Black Mass production designer Stefania Cella’s personal site.
