Last night, former Boston.com Editor-in-Chief Matt Gross emailed us an unbelievable sight: Keytar Bear, everyone’s favorite Boston busker, playing in the New York City subway.
Perhaps Keytar Bear is just taking a weekend trip away from Beantown, and who could blame him? He’s been attacked and robbed twice now, and judging by Matt’s video, the people of New York have given him a very warm welcome.
The more intriguing possibility is that an enterprising New Yorker has co-opted Keytar Bear’s schtick, and could be the first among dozens of keytar-playing teddies across the nation. But that’s a pretty distinct looking getup, so the straightforward weekend in Brooklyn narrative seems much more likely. As long as New York has him back by Monday, all is right in the world.
