On Friday night, Mass Ave. was closed to traffic, but open for dancing, and people took full advantage of the opportunity. Crowds of moving bodies convened for the annual Cambridge Dance Party outside of City Hall, which was lit up like a raver’s Christmas dream.

When the sun was still up, families gathered to dance to their favorite staples (“YMCA,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and the like), with giddy children looking to make their moves known.  When the sun went down, the families started to return to their homes, while the younger-skewing dance crowd continued to grow, brimming with people just looking to dance with friends and significant others and share an experience.
