This is Aaron Blaise.
Blaise worked at Disney as an animator for 21 years, helping create characters featured in Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, and The Lion King.
Like many others, Blaise was affected by the tragedy of Cecil the Lion.
Late last week, Blaise posted this touching tribute to Cecil in the style of The Lion King.
Blaise captioned the illustration with a classic The Lion King quote: “Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down upon us from those stars.”
“As you may be able to tell, I am a HUGE animal lover, and it drives me crazy when I see these beautiful creatures destroyed for no good reason,” Blaise wrote in a blog post. “When I heard the news about Cecil, I got inspired to create a tribute image.”
Blaise also posted a tutorial on YouTube showing how he made the illustration.
“It’s not much,” Blaise wrote on his blog. “But hopefully it will make people think.”
