Actor Bryan Cranston always made a big deal about breakfast as Walter White on the modern television classic “Breaking Bad.” So it makes perfect sense that the author of the best-selling children’s book for adults “Go the F*ck to Sleep” would tap Cranston to narrate the audibook for his newest profane title, “You Have to F*cking Eat.”

Parents have all experienced the joy of trying to force their kids to eat, and Cranston’s docile yet profane reading functions as an inner monologue for all those things you wish you could say to little Timmy when he decides plain hot dogs (the only food you’ve gotten him to eat for dinner over the last month) are now “gross” and won’t eat anything else.

Adam Mansbach, the author of “You Have to F*cking Eat,” has already scored a movie deal for “Go the F*ck to Sleep,” and seems to have hit a vein with his kid’s books for adults. If he can pull A-listers like Cranston to narrate his book, clearly it’s going well. Though Cranston’s performance still doesn’t hold a candle to Samuel L. Jackson’s rendition of “Go the F*ck to Sleep.”
