The WDBJ morning team paid tribute to colleagues Alison Parker and Adam Ward Thursday morning.
A day after Parker and Ward were killed, host Kim McBroom, weatherman Leo Hirsbrunner, and anchor Steve Grant led a moment of silence at 6:45 a.m. That time coincides with the time of Parker and Ward’s live report from Wednesday morning, when they were ambushed by a gunman.
“We are approaching a moment that none of us will forget. It was yesterday around this time that we went live to Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward,” McBroom said. “They were out in the field. The story was like so many others they did all the time – reporting on our hometowns.”
McBroom ended Thursday’s morning show with this sign-off:
“We are different people this morning. We are grieving. …. It’s a loss that will never be filled. Your support has been a lifeline for us.”
