Look, I’m pretty against overindulging in celebrity culture (Tom Brady notwithstanding), but this is too good to pass up.

Justin Bieber, sporting one of his trademark dress-length t-shirts, hopped out of his SUV to give paparazzi a show near Madison Square Garden in New York City this past weekend. And when I say show, I mean he attempted an ollie — the most basic skateboarding move there is — several times, failing repeatedly and then immediately leaving when he finally landed one.

I wouldn’t normally write on something like this, but a) it’s fun watching Justin Bieber fail repeatedly at something, and b) sharing this video lets me reiterate how laughably transparent Bieber’s attempts at looking cool are.

Take this video the Biebs posted on Instagram earlier this year showing off his sick basketball skills.

The video is just Bieber executing a series of terrible crossovers while acting like he’s auditioning for the role of Skip to my Lou in an And1 Mixtape biopic. You know that if J-Biebs had been practicing ollies at home, he would have put that final successful stair jump up on Instagram with a caption like “On my Tony Hawk swag #grindin #skatelife #firsttry #nailedit”
