In 2013, Kanye stopped by BBC Radio 1 to give a memorable interview to acclaimed British DJ Zane Lowe. In it, they discussed his desire to create, his last album, Yeezus, and his relationship with Kim Kardashian
This week, he returned to Lowe’s show for another lengthy chat. Noticeably calmer and happier, he talked about Drake, his recent fashion outing with Adidas, and where he is in the process of creating his new album. Though he’s clearly in a better place, this interview didn’t lack in ridiculous quotes.
On people’s perception of him:
“I didn’t come here to be liked; I came here to make a difference… at any moment, I could hit that ‘Ye button.”
On design:
“The world can only be saved through design… art is to be free, design is to fix.”
On his relationship with Elon Musk:
“What does Kanye West and Elon Musk talk about? The futch.”
On Drake:
“He’s delivering a level of product to humanity that is high quality.” And then, later: “I don’t have any advice for this young man but what I can say is… run, fly, go as fast as you can. Don’t stop.”
This talk, like the one before it, is full of goodies. Watch it in all of its slightly NSFW glory below:
