The nu-metal mainstays have covered the unlikeliest of songs.
Here, allow me to use this tweet to set things up and share my feelings on the subject:
*hears that Disturbed has covered "The Sound of Silence"*
Haha no way.
*hears the actual song*
Wow this is way worse than I ever imagined.— Adam 12 (@adamxii) April 12, 2016
Full disclosure: my first steady job on the radio was hosting a show that helped break bands like Disturbed. They’re an act that, in my opinion, are very good at what they do, which is crank out bone-crushing nu-metal hits. So hearing them cover Simon & Garfunkel sounds borderline comical to me. What does it sound like to you?
Here are a few other opinions on the subject. Feel free to share yours.
@adamxii waa ah ah uh uh it’s the sound of silence. Now get down with the sickness.

@adamxii the fact that so many people like a bad version of a good song shows how good the song is. Right? I’m reaching here, 12
