Finishing a good book is bittersweet. And sometimes the bitter part can really bum you out.
Just ask this baby, who cries whenever his favorite book ends.
A video uploaded to YouTube on August 31st shows a young baby being read to by his mom. He’s way into it.
Everything is going great for this baby. Life is amazing. He knows no pain. The horrors of adulthood have yet to taint his wonder.
And then mom closes the book.
And he… he is not happy.
He expresses himself the only way he knows how to. The only way any of us would know how to.
Fortunately for him, he’s a tiny baby. He has a short term memory and doesn’t really have a good grasp on object permanence.
So a few moments later, when mom rereads him the book again, he feels joy once more.
He doesn’t remember the book ending, and only exists in this moment.
Order has been restored, if only for a moment.
And then a book ends again.
And this keeps happening!
We see him deal with the end of his favorite story over…
…and over.
