Restaurants

It’s almost time send off 2017 and welcome in 2018, and we have some ideas about how you can do precisely that.

Sal Boscarino, Managing Partner at Navy Yard Hospitality, recently joined Julie Kramer in the RadioBDC studios to talk about New Year’s festivities at three restaurants that he oversees in and around Boston: Mija Cantina & Tequila Bar in Faneuil Hall, Pier 6 in Charlestown, and ReelHouse in East Boston.

Mija bills itself as “Boston’s premier authentic Mexican restaurant,” but their New Year’s Eve Bash, which begins at 9 p.m., has more of a classic “New Year’s Eve in Boston” vibe. Passed appetizers start making their way around the room at 9:30 p.m., Boston-based DJ Latitude supplies the soundtrack, and there’s a champagne toast when the ball drops at midnight. Tickets are available here.

For something a bit more formal, ReelHouse on the East Boston waterfront is offering New Year’s Eve on the Harbor. Passed hors d’ouevres will be complimented by a raw bar station, featuring freshly-shucked oysters and cocktail shrimp. And when you raise your glass at midnight, your backdrop will be the midnight fireworks show on the Harbor and the view will be spectacular. Get your tickets here.

Lastly, there’s Pier 6 in Charlestown, which focuses on fresh seafood, local ingredients, and classic New England dishes. Their “Recovery Brunch” from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on New Year’s Day features a Bloody Mary bar and make-your-own Mimosa station. With panoramic views of the city skyline and Boston Harbor, the first day of 2018 will certainly look beautiful.
