Black Mountain and Whitney’s Inn: two Jackson legends.
Black Mountain is one of my favorite spots in the Whites, not just because Jackson and Jackson Village are so quintessentially New England, but because it’s a family mountain with a warm, old school vibe. And because we always seem to have a blast après-ski at the Lostbo Pub.
Before the party, my son and I spent the day on the trails, which the fine folks at Black have done a tremendous job keeping up during a season that would love to see more snow. Great view from the East Bowl Triple Chair, right?
We stayed slopeside at Whitney’s Inn at Jackson, which bills itself at a “Traditional Mountainside Resort.” And it most certainly looks the part.
Our accommodations were perfectly cosy, as were the common rooms and reading nooks. My son was particularly fond of the fresh, homemade cookies and hot cocoa we enjoyed on Saturday night.
Visit Whitney’s Inn online for more details. And we’ll see you at our next RadioBDC Coors Light Drafters stop. Click here to find out where we’ll be. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to grab a pint at the Shovel Handle…
