Boston

Another Best of Boston awards program? Great. You need another sprawling list of pricey restaurants and Newbury Street salons like you need a hole in your wallet, which is kind of what it would be like to actually visit all of those places.

But also: You like fun, right? You’ll even leave your house to go have fun because that’s sometimes just where the most fun can be found? Hey, us too. That’s why our fresh take on a “best of” list specifically honors events and things to do in Boston — it’ll be your go-to guide for experiencing the city without going broke.

If you’ve checked out the curated event listings on The Boston Calendar, you know there’s an almost endless roster of stuff to do in the city, so we’ve decided to salute Boston’s best venues, festivals, and other things to do with The Boston Calendar Best Of Awards, presented by BDCwire. That’s where you come in: We want you to submit your favorites for 25 awards in the categories of Food, Drinks/Nightlife, Culture, Music, and City Living.

Submit your entries here through September 15, and rally support for your favorites on social media with the hashtag #BestInBoston. This is your chance to pay tribute to your favorite dive bar and the life-altering advice you read carved into the wall above the sink. The neighborhood music festival where you saw a month’s worth of bands for free. The restaurant deal that has you secretly grateful for Massachusetts’ food-based approach to happy hour.

Five finalists for each category will be announced on October 1, as determined by The Boston Calendar and BDCwire team members. Winners will be determined by a panel of guest judges assigned to specific categories based on their expertise, who will also take social media support into consideration (once again, that’s #BestInBoston).

@TheBostonCal and @BDCwire on Twitter for updates on finalists, guest judges, and how we plan to announce the winners in November. Probably a party so amazing we almost have to create a new award on the spot to honor our own event, only we won’t because we’re too modest, anyways you guys are the ones who deserve an award, really.
