“The person I was before would never hang out with who I am today,” comedian Drew Lynch said. “I thought people were lucky if they got to talk to me. I was a jerk.”
Lynch, 23, suffered nerve damage to his vocal chords, a result of freak accident during a company softball game. The accident left him with a stutter, and he turned to comedy to help him cope.
His self-deprecating act won over the crowd — and the judges — on America’s Got Talent.
“I feel a lot responsibility to show people that you can turn anything into a positive,” Lynch said.
Responsibility aside, Lynch was funny. So funny, in fact, that Howie Mandel utilized the show’s “golden buzzer.” It sends Lynch straight to Radio City Music Hall, where America’s Got Talent hosts their live shows.
