After months of holding our collective breath, the Boston Calling lineup for this May (hand-picked by Aaron Dessner of The National) has been announced at long last with some major headliners and a few surprises. Beck, Pixies, My Morning Jacket and Ben Harper will anchor the three-day festival that boasts 23 total performers on the bill that ranges from big names to local favorites. More
Boston legends Pixies have been back on our radars in the past year or so, first parting ways with original bassist Kim Deal, then going through another bassist named Kim before settling on current bassist Paz Lenchantin. The band then toured, released three EPs, and now, looking at the release of the its first album since ’91’s “Trompe Le Monde,” they’re streaming it in full. More
This spring’s Boston Calling lineup was announced earlier this week, and judging by Twitter’s collective reaction (seriously, we read a ton of tweets), and based on the fact that pre-sale tickets are already sold out, folks seem to be quite smitten with this festival’s bill. One peculiar part that stood out, however, is that one major act near the top of the bill has yet to be announced. What’s so goddamn special about this act, huh?
