Many moons ago (really only a couple of years ago), Starlab in Somerville was a staple venue in the local music community, bringing some of the best in local and touring music to their side of the river. At this point, the space is used less for regular shows, having acted more as a rehearsal space and recording studio in recent years, but it still produces its ever-evolving annual music festival Starlabfest.

This year, the festival looks bigger and more inclusive than ever, gathering a wide range of local acts, and incorporating food, film, comedy, and art all in the same neatly-wrapped package. Taking place Saturday, July 19 starting at noon, with two stages in Union Square, the fifth annual Starlabfest will feature the following music lineup:

Beware the Dangers of a Ghost Scorpion

The Young Leaves

Boogie Boy Metal Mouth

Stephen Konrads & The Eternals

The Dazies

Future Spa

Animal Mother

In addition to local music, Starlabfest V will have free food from the grill and local restaurants, and a great deal of libations from Narragansett beer. The film and comedy lineups are yet to be announced, but tickets will be on sale starting Monday, June 9 for the very affordable price of $10.
