Sure, Rihanna’s a known badass and a vocal powerhouse, but she’s got a goofy side too, as evidenced by a masterminded prank she pulled on Jimmy Kimmel before appearing on his show last night.
“I’m a big fan of your April Fools’ pranks, and so I was like ‘I wanna do that,'” she said. “If I’m gonna be on the couch, then I’m gonna get him pranked.'”
And so it was. Rihanna and her posse snuck into famously narcoleptic Kimmel’s house in the dead of the night, where the late night host was sleeping like a baby –
They got into the house with the help of co-conspirator Molly McNearney, who is the former head writer of Kimmel, and his wife.
After tip-toeing up to his room with her entourage, Rihanna queued up her latest single “Bitch Better Have My Money” and blasted it (along with a portable light show) to a very sleepy, very confused Kimmel.
You can just see him going back and forth between thinking the apocalypse has arrived and wanting to pull the covers over his head. Finally, Kimmel wakes up and moans, “I have my mouthpiece in” in a hoarse, half-asleep voice.
And of course, no one was more delighted to see it happen than McNearney, who could barely contain her glee as her husband desperately tried to figure out what was going on.
Watch your back next year, Ri, Kimmel does April Fools’ Day better than anyone.
