If I’m understanding the situation correctly, “What is Left” is a collection of outtakes from an album Weymouth’s Lucas Pearson recorded in the early ‘00s, then sort of forgot about and wound up playing in Sinaloa for the next 10 years. So…these songs weren’t good enough to put on a record that, at the time, got scrapped so its creator could focus on another project? As far as sensitive singer/songwriter types go, Pearson’s far more bearable than that guy who shows up to every party and forces everyone to listen while he butchers “Say It Ain’t So,” but I’m not sure if I follow why we were sent what’s assuredly not Pearson’s best or most recent output.
