First off, kudos to the Goudswards for figuring out how to properly submit a manuscript file (lookin’ at you, Rob McQueen). Massachusetts is rich in lore, and there are plenty of published works that anthologize this. Still, “Horror Guide to Massachusetts” feels complete in a way that a total goosebump junkie like myself can appreciate. With everything from Stephen King to “R.I.P.D.,” this book tirelessly encyclopediaizes the minutiae of everything that has ever gone bump in this New England state. It’d make a hell of a guide for a scare-seeking roadtrip.
