As with Qualiatik’s visual art, she does absolutely nothing to hide her experimental expertise. Each song renders hazy, quixotic sketches into tangible, hook heavy semi-electro compositions. Her catalog of bass-heavy songs not only shows-off the vigor behind her slow and soulful crooning, but also demonstrates her outstanding ability to puzzle sounds and samples together. Qualiatik’s tracks have some unmistakable references to electro-pop and the haunting quirks you would here in a Grimes song, but sonically references tons of R&B and hip-hop with each deep pound of the bass. Good for zoning the fuck out, or while looking at Qualiatik’s visual art probably.
