“Bleepomatic” is supposed to be a slow-burner, the simmering, steamy album opener. It’s about as sexy as a wet fart on a sweaty night. The key to a slow burner is not just a laconic tempo but some sort of underlying tension that makes the listener want to pay attention. “Bleepomatic” has the former and that’s about — whatever vibe they are going for is killed by bleating, boring keyboard tones. The female vocals are nice but show up entirely too late to save the track. Which is a shame, because there are some decent ideas buried in the new album “Decode” once (if) you can get past “Bleepomatic”.
