A quick listen to a “Vagina Dialogues” podcast will call your attention to the first oddity of the series—the predominant speaker is a man. Jon Dao’s often comical, but then surprisingly sincere podcast series plays off the concept of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues.” Adding a second dimension to Ensler’s candid discussion of sexuality, “The Vagina Dialogues” is certainly a listen—that is a solitary, headphones-plugged-in, far-away-from-immediate-family listen. Oddly enough (or perhaps suitably considering how unconventional the project is), the tone for the series actually is set by the advertising. Dao’s spirited, if slightly sarcastic plugs for adult website adameve.com (NSFW) could be their own podcast series and develop quite the following.
