JAP. is a Japanese American musician (get it?) whose new single “Bae” is as advertised. There’s a pretty vibe-able flutter of noise behind JAP.’s vocals, but the first verse comes in at an assaultingly ill-mixed volume. If you’re going to make Vine-ready R&B, you gotta be smoother than that. Guarantee there’s 50 songs called “Bae” released by the end of the year, but at least JAP. can say he was won of the first.
Also maybe quit being an asshole and get a new name.
