IsaacLeSage, a young talent out of New York, has only a few tunes to his name on his personal Soundcloud page, the forefront of which is “Dreaming Like an American.” The song takes a bare-bones, singer-songwriter approach, but encompasses more of an alt-rock or indie pop feel, mostly in his snappy but confident vocal delivery. Because of this, the tune shows maturity in sentiment, but less so in execution, and would lyrically work more successfully over a full band. That said, his finger-picking skills are sharp, his intonation is regularly on point, and the track is both smooth and fluid, considering it was likely recorded in his dorm room.
