A writing submission, hooray! The college English major in me jumps for joy. The writer does a great job setting the scene with lots of description. I had a very clear picture in my mind of what the setting must look like, the smell of grass as they walked, etc. I only wish there was a little more insight into the secondary characters, I wanted to know a bit more about them. “Filling Up the Moon” is a good snapshot of a moment in time, and I like using the moon as a sort of timekeeper at the end. I would love to have a bit more conversation with the two girls or others at the school. It seemed just as you were getting a sense of them, they were taken away from the story.
