Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Returns to Boston
Boston events

Seeing the Alvin Ailey company for the first time a decade and a half ago changed my perspective on modern dance and the arts. In the years since, I’ve tried to make it a point to see their productions whenever they come to town. I’m especially excited for this year’s run, as I had dancer, choreographer, and company veteran Matthew Rushing in studio to talk about the Alvin Ailey experience, life in dance, and ODETTA–his tribute to the legendary folk singer and civil rights activist Odetta Holmes. Click here for tickets and information, and click through to hear my chat with Matthew. More

Tom Hamilton reminisced with us and talked about “the funniest fundraiser in Boston.” Urban Improv‘s Banned in Boston takes place on Friday, April 10. Politics

It has been a busy week for Republican Senator Ted Cruz, most notably for throwing his hat in for the 2016 Presidential race. As is expected, the scrutiny began almost immediately, with many people quick to point out Cruz’s website snafu among other things. One odd tidbit that has come to light, however, is Cruz’s taste in music, and how it changed after September 11, 2001.  More
