The long movie awards season is winding down to the big event. This week, the Academy of Motion Picture’s voting for the Oscars will be closed, leaving just a hand full of days until Hollywood’s biggest night and the finale of the 2013 film awards season.

By our count, 18 of 22 major award events have occurred already with another three taking place this weekend. Most are ceremonies from the US. So to keep you in the know, here’s an all-encompassing group of awards with the focus of each. For Indies, there are the Gotham Awards (American film awards honoring independent films in New York City) and the yet-to-take-place right before the Oscars, the Independent Spirit Awards (recognizing the achievements of independent filmmakers in Los Angeles);

In prestige, there are The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures which is one of the oldest eclectic organizations of film enthusiasts in New York City and the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards (Broadcast Film Critics Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement). Then there are large cities with their own organizations deciding their best and finest in various achievements to include the Boston Society of Film Critics, the New York Film Critics Circle, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.

Bringing in the foreign connection, there are the Golden Globe Awards (Hollywood Foreign Press acknowledgement of film and television productions) and the BAFTA Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards considered the British counterpart of the Oscars) as well as the yet-to-take- place Satellite Awards (given by the International Press Academy in various film and TV categories).

Then there is the big bucket of film guilds, associations, and technical abilities like Writers Guild of America Awards, Producers Guild of America Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Directors Guild of America Awards and Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards which have already awarded their winners. The technical field have crown their visionaries during the ACE Eddie Awards (American Cinema Editors give editing awards in several film and TV categories), the Annie Awards (the LA Branch of the International Animated Film Association, ASIFA-Hollywood honors animation productions in film and television), VES Awards (the entertainment industry’s only organization representing the full breadth of visual effects practitioners), and ADG Excellence in Production Design Awards (recognizing excellence in production design and art direction in the film and television industries). Even the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has already handed out a few Oscars during its Scientific and Technical Award ceremony.

In the yet-to-be-honored ceremonies that take place this weekend, there is previously mentioned Satellite Awards as well as CDG Awards (the Gilda statuette or Costume Designers Awards honoring costume designers in film, television, and commercials), and finally the C.A.S. Awards (Cinema Audio Society Awards honoring achievement in sound mixing in film and television).

So with so many awards being handed out, who has won what so far? Does momentum play a factor in voting for the Oscars and who is leading the pack this award season? Well, check out the scorecard below of what has been given out so far and see if you see any trends.
