The Music Video Roundup brings you a handful of the most memorable videos to hit the web this week. This roundup features videos from MØ, Poliça, Albert Hammond Jr., and Pixies.
Early this morning, Danish artist MØ released the video for her first single “Don’t Wanna Dance”. Despite the deceptive song title, MØ, her friends and her glorious pink fur coat bring the dance party to a junkyard in this visually stunning video. After releasing a sampler for her upcoming debut album “Mythologies To Follow”, hype for this upcoming pop-star has been increasingly growing.
In the two part video for Poliça’s “I Need $ // So Leave” Channy Leaneagh comes face to face with her doppelganger while working as a motel maid. The video continues with Leaneagh abandoning her life, in exchange for the identity she dreams of. This isn’t the first time the band has played with the concept of duality. The dark and unsettling video for “Tiff” had Leaneagh acting as both captive and torturer.
Perhaps it is just me, but I find Pixie’s newest video to be absolutely bizarre. After watching “Magdalena” a half dozen times, I am still left with more questions than answers. Watch for yourself and see if you can figure out what the heck is happening.
Albert Hammond Jr. takes you on a blurry walking tour of Paris in his chaotic, yet simple video for “Strange Tidings”.
