If you ever found yourself wondering how Bobby Brown gets it crackin’ in his kitchen, tomorrow is your day.

Ahead of New Edition’s homecoming gig tomorrow night at Agganis Arena, Brown is comin’ home to debut his new line of sauces and spices at Sunset Cantina from noon to 2 p.m. The marquee R&B singer and “Real Husbands of Hollywood” star will be in-house at the Brighton taqueria demoing his Original BBQ Sauce, Sweet and Spicy Sauce, Boston Blend Seasoning, and Everyday Seasoning, which will hit the finger-lickin’ market in September. The event will feature pulled pork and chicken sliders as well as two other special menu items and is free and open to the public.

“It’s from me and by me and I can’t wait for everybody to taste it,” said Brown, somehow not quoting a New Edition song.

Though it seems strange that the twilighting icon would take up a chef’s frock, it’s certainly not the most insane thing Brown has done in his career. The Roxbury soulster-cum-sous chef claims to have been a prodigy in the kitchen since a young age, when he would be sentenced to cook duty as punishment. Now, as he’s lapping the U.S. in what is likely to be his last go-around with the Boston R&B group, Mr. Telephone Man is throwing a BBQ for his hometown fans.

Sure, it’s one of the oddest, most random occurrences to come to Commonwealth Ave., but it’s the perfect opportunity to get barbecue sauce all over your newly autographed copy of “Don’t Be Cruel.”
