Most characters at Disney World don’t have to do much to stay in character. Mickey, Minnnie, Goofy and the rest of the costumed Disney creations just pose for photos, give hugs, and wave. But Gaston from “Beauty and the Beast” is played by a real-life human, one who can’t stand by silently when issued a feats of strength challenge like a push-up contest.

You know how we said it was a bad idea to challenge Gaston in the headline? Well there’s a few reasons for that. One, Gaston works out, and is in control. Two, Gaston will take your woman as his prize — even if she can’t cook or clean — just to prove a point. And three, Gaston does some totally weak half-armed push-ups. Seriously, you can’t hide terrible form behind a pair of fake biceps, Gaston. The guy who challenged him still gave up pretty easily, but come on, his body is forming a 45-degree angle with the ground.

While it may be true that no one’s slick as Gaston, no one’s quick as Gaston, it’s also clear that no one skips arm workouts like Gaston. No wonder Belle wouldn’t give him the time of day.
